Fullerton Information

Fullerton is a city located in northern Orange County, California, perhaps best known as the home of California State University, Fullerton. The University is the largest employer in the city. Other large educational employers include the Fullerton School District, Fullerton Joint Union High School District, and Fullerton College.

The downtown area, as in many cities around the country, is experiencing a rebirth as many places undergo renovation. Especially south of Commonwealth Avenue, the city has become more of a busy entertainment district, described by the OC Weekly as "Bourbon Street West." Recently over thirty businesses that sell festive drinks have opened, making the downtown area much more active at night.

A former aircraft campus in western Fullerton has been redeveloped into a major new residential and commercial district, called Amerige Heights. Famed community planner Peter Calthorpe designed Amerige Heights with the benefit of extensive community input. This mix of homes and jobs has helped the community thrive, keeping major employers in the area, while attracting others to the region.

Some of Fullerton’s other major employers include St. Jude Medical Center, the City of Fullerton, Raytheon Systems Company, Beckman Coulter, Fairchild Fasteners, Foxconn, Kraft Foods, Kimberly Clark, Albertsons Regional Corp. Office, Monogram Systems, and Custom Designs.
